Goplant-based.org is the latest project from Earth Action Network, Inc. (EAN), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in Connecticut. Our mission is simple but urgent: to educate the American public about the devastating environmental consequences of animal agriculture, and to inspire action through our billboard campaign.
Our website breaks down the latest research on complex issues including climate change, pollution, water waste, land destruction, human health, ocean health, world hunger, and more. We aim to share science in a more digestible way, so that you can feel confident making informed, eco-friendly choices.
EAN is renowned for creating and producing E–The Environmental Magazine, a national newsstand-quality bimonthly publication, from 1990 to 2013. E Magazine has since transitioned to an online-only publication and is now operated out of offices in Seattle, Washington. EAN also created and produces a weekly, nationally-syndicated column called EarthTalk, which appears in hundreds of newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs nationally.
Since its inception, EAN’s mission has remained the same: to share information, ideas and resources about environmental issues, so that readers can live more sustainable lives and connect with ongoing efforts for change.
If you’d like to join us in this movement, please visit our “donate” page, and consider sponsoring a local billboard to help make a difference in your own community.
Our Team
Doug Moss

Doug Moss created the goplant-based.org billboard project and the billboards themselves with the help of graphic designer Lynda Falcone.
Doug founded our parent organization, Earth Action Network, Inc. (EAN) in 1990. EAN previously published the award-winning E – The Environmental Magazine and the nationally-syndicated Q&A environmental column, EarthTalk: Questions and Answers About Our Environment. Both of those projects are now in the hands of another nonprofit called EarthTalk based in Seattle, Washington. The magazine now appears online only (emagazine.com). Examples of EarthTalk columns past and present can be found by Googling “Dear EarthTalk.” Doug still edits the column each week.
Prior to that, Doug co-founded and published The Animals’ Agenda, the animal rights movement’s leading independent magazine from 1979 to 1988.
